In my work, I try to get as close as possible to both others and myself in an attempt to capture life’s intensity and fleetingness as honestly as I can. A lover at heart, there is a romantic touch to everything I do, and I use whatever medium feels right for the project at hand.
Where some might see the current overload and quickness of imagery as a threat to the art of photography, I see it as a new way of engaging with the medium and use it to my advantage, making volatility and elusiveness key themes in my work. In an age where people are increasingly visually literate and have a camera on them at all times, taking and sharing photos becomes a performative act; a phenomenon that my work both exposes and exaggerates.
